Yorkshire Profiles provides CNC fibre laser cutting for one-off components, repeat batches and production work across the UK. Our automated laser cutting systems combine fast processing with consistent cut quality, while our in-house fabrication facilities allow laser-cut parts to move directly into folding, tapping, countersinking, welding and assembly when required.
We process sheet up to 3000mm x 1500mm and work with a broad range of metals including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, Zintec and pre-galvanised steel, Hardox and other carbon steels, brass, copper and titanium.
All laser-cut parts are deburred as standard within the quoted price. Where material certification is required, we can also maintain material traceability and supply the relevant certification on request.

Maximum cutting thickness depends on the material grade, surface condition, part geometry and required edge quality. If your requirement is close to a stated limit, send us the drawing and material specification and we will confirm suitability before quoting.

How Fibre Laser Cutting Works
A fibre laser generates a concentrated beam which is delivered to the cutting head and focused onto the sheet. The machine follows a CNC-programmed toolpath generated from the component drawing.
Depending on the material and cutting requirement, an assist gas is used to remove molten material from the kerf and control the resulting cut edge. Piercing routines and cut monitoring manage the start of each profile and help maintain a stable cutting process.
The important result for the customer is not the laser itself: it is accurate components, repeatable batches, efficient material use and a cut edge ready for the next manufacturing operation.
From Laser Cut Part to Finished Fabrication
Laser cutting is often only the first operation. Yorkshire Profiles also provides CNC sheet metal folding, tapping, countersinking, deburring and edge rounding, welding and assembly.
Keeping these operations together can reduce transport, administration and lead time while giving one supplier responsibility for the finished component.
