Fabricator

Main purpose of job:

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will complete Mild Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminium welding and assembly tasks as required to client specifications. Most orders processed are “light duty” goods weighing under 25kg and processed on a welding bench.
You must make sure orders are sent out to the customer on time, to high quality standards, and
to their purchase orders and drawings.

Main tasks of job include (but are not limited to):

  • Complete fabrications to the drawings provided.
  • Complete any metal work tasks set by management, including countersinking, tapping, inserts and assembly.
  • Carry out general maintenance of the equipment to manufacturers guidelines and your job training.
  • Check parts produced are of a high quality and accurate to requests from the CAD team and the customer.
  • Behave in a manner which meets the Company’s policies and guidelines for health and safety requirements as set out in your Employment Contract and Health and Safety Handbook.
  • Report any faults immediately and complete machine safety checks frequently.
  • Monitor consumables and inform the Production Manager or the Purchasing and Logistics Manager when more need to be ordered and delivered.
  • Cooperate with office and workshop teams
  • Maintain a clean and organised working area.
  • Undertake training as required
  • This list is not exhaustive and you may be expected to perform other tasks during peak times.

Further Details:

The ideal candidate will have either qualifications or experience in TIG and MIG welding steel and stainless steel. Welding aluminium would be an advantage to any applicant. You must be competent in managing your own work with little supervision. You will have a hands-on attitude and a certain level of technical ability to safely work with industrial equipment. Accuracy is key and you must be thorough and have a keen eye for details.

You will be monitored on the following KPIs:
Speed and ability of processing orders with minimal disruptions.
Successful maintenance of the equipment.
Success to failure ratio of producing accurate, high quality assemblies.
Feedback from managers on cooperative working
Feedback from managers on use of initiative
Feedback from managers on time management

Working Hours

40 hours per week paid monthly, start and finish times can be agreed at interview stage and open to 4 or 5 day working week.
Permanent position
224 hours holiday per year available to book in 1 hour blocks for maximum flexibility.
After the first year, a “loyalty day” is added to holiday allowance up to a maximum of 8 days (+64 hours).

Salary:

Between £15.50 and £17.50 per hour depending on experience.
“Production Bonus” paid monthly when targets are met.
