What materials can you laser cut?

We regularly process mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, Zintec and pre-galvanised steel, Hardox and other carbon steels, brass, copper and titanium.

Suitability can depend on the exact grade and surface condition, so include the full material specification when requesting a quote.

What is the maximum sheet size?

Our standard maximum sheet size is 3000mm x 1500mm.

What thickness can you laser cut?

The maximum varies by material and by the required cut quality. We maintain one current capability table on our main laser cutting page rather than repeating different figures across the website.

Do you accept one-off jobs as well as production work?

Yes. We manufacture one-off components, prototypes, repeat batches and ongoing production work.

The most economical approach depends on material usage, programming, setup and the quantity required.

Is there a minimum order value?

Our current minimum order charge is £50. This covers the administration, programming and production resources required even for very small one-off parts.

What information do you need to quote?

Send the component drawing together with the material grade, thickness, quantity and any required surface finish.

Please also tell us whether you require laser cutting only or further operations such as folding, tapping, countersinking, welding or assembly.

Can you work from a drawing rather than CAD data?

Yes. If CAD data is not available, send us a fully dimensioned drawing. We will review it and advise whether any additional information is required before manufacture.

What tolerances can laser cutting achieve?

Tolerance depends on material, thickness, component size and geometry.

If a dimension is critical, identify it on the drawing so that we can confirm the appropriate manufacturing method and achievable tolerance before quotation.

What is the smallest hole you can laser cut?

Small-hole quality depends strongly on material thickness. Very small holes in thicker material may be possible but can produce a poorer cut edge.

Mark critical hole diameters on the drawing and we will confirm whether they should be laser cut or produced using a secondary operation.

Are laser-cut parts deburred?

Yes. We deburr laser-cut parts as standard within the quoted price. This removes the sharp cutting burr and produces a more consistent part for handling and subsequent fabrication.

The laser start/stop pip is not automatically removed unless specifically agreed.

Can you provide material traceability?

Yes. Where required, we maintain material traceability and can provide the relevant material certification on request.

Tell us at quotation stage if certification is a contractual requirement.

Can you fold or fabricate the parts after cutting?

Yes. Our in-house services include CNC sheet metal folding, tapping, countersinking, deburring and edge rounding, welding and assembly.

This allows us to supply either laser-cut blanks or more complete fabricated components.

How quickly can you laser cut my parts?

Lead time depends on material availability, quantity, complexity and the rest of the production schedule.

Automated material handling and extended machine utilisation give us substantial capacity, but we will confirm an achievable delivery date when quoting rather than promise a generic turnaround time.

How do I request a quote?

Use our enquiry process and send the drawing, material, thickness, quantity and any secondary operations required.

Providing complete information at the start is the quickest route to an accurate quotation.
